Narrative Poetry Unit:
In this unit, students will survey and analyze a range of poetry; and writing, in order to experiment with the elements of poetry. Students will build a community of readers and writers as they read, discuss, write, respond to, and share their work. They will read narrative poems and generate their own poem ideas. Students will experiment with the real writers’ skills, in order to create engaging narrative poems. Students will then take one of their narrative poems through the publication process.
