Informational Reading Unit:
In this unit, students will develop an understanding and appreciation of informational text. They will look at all forms of informational text through the exploration of a single topic. Students will develop strong skills in evidence gathering and determining the relevance of said evidence. Students will look at multiple forms of informational text to garner the notion that text is not limited to just the printed word. Students will evaluate video clips, blogs and other multimedia forms of informational text to determine meaning, author’s purpose, cite evidence, make inferences, and compare and contrast.
